United Airlines Boots Tomato Juice From Its Menu (and Makes Passengers Mad)

Say goodbye to tomato juice on short haul United Airlines flights.

The savory beverage has found itself on the chopping block (along with Sprite Zero, Jim Beam, Courvoisier and Amaretto) as United Airlines looks to “streamline” it’s service on flights that are under four hours long.

“But what about my bloody Mary’s?”

United is replacing tomato juice with Mr. & Mrs. T Bloody Mary Mix, a decision that has left those who like tomato juice for tomato juice’s sake feeling slighted.

Noted one “source” to CNBC: “We are once again in full apology mode now onboard our flights, although the issue (of the disappearing tomato juice) is a more minor one compared to the forced removal of customers or suffocating dogs.”

But, added another United flight attendant, the airline will be adding Ghiradelli ice cream toppings (although on the usual ice cream) to United flights. So, at least there’s that.

Update: Tomato juice is back!
