United Amends Family Pre-Board Policy

Families with young children flying with United Airlines are now able to board aircraft before other passengers once again as the company has reversed its four-year policy. In 2012, the company stopped allowing children to board early. The alteration to the pre-boarding rule, which will allow kids 2 years old and younger to board flights with their families before other flyers, will go into effect on Feb. 15.

“It takes a little bit of the stress out of the travel situation,” said Sandra Pineau-Boddison, United’s vice president of customers.

And goodbye to any overhead bin space for anyone NOT travelling with a child. You know, like every business traveler ever.

The problem is passengers abuse the system with 5 year olds etc and the Gate agents never enforce it, so in places like Orlando 50% of the aircraft attempts to pre- board.

So Jeff's commitment to screw over elites is upheld as a UA tradition going forward, Further crippling changes to the FFP and the Million Miler program can now only be a matter of months. Who needs to cater for those who buy the most tickets when you fill the planes anyway?
