U.S. Passport to Get Upgrade for Security Purposes

Upgrades will be made to the U.S. passport later this year that will allow for more protection against forgery and fraud. Such features of the new document, which has yet to be seen, include a bio page with laser-engraved data, special ink, and perforation that will convey the passport number on all pages.

@jtet: Sometimes low-tech is the best tech. All of the technology, microchips, databases, etc. do nothing for the poor border officer or police officer on the street.
