U.S. Airlines Applaud Supreme Court Ruling on Same-Sex Marriage, “On Board” as #LoveWins
U.S. legacy carriers showed their support for marriage equality Friday morning, applauding the Supreme Court’s landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide.
American Airlines released an official press release announcing it’s “on board” with the ruling. “This is a historic moment for our country and for many of American’s employees,” said CEO Doug Parker. “Today’s decision reaffirms the commitment of companies like American that recognize equality is good for business and society as a whole.”
American, which has a history of lending support to LGBT rights and openly defending its stance on the issue, also took its support for the decision to Twitter:

Delta Air Lines also showed its support following Friday’s ruling, modifying its English homepage with a rainbow flag background and the words: “Marriage Takes Flight.” The airline also has a dedicated page on its site for LGBT travelers, giving them insight into the company’s history of supporting equality and highlighting LGBT-friendly attractions around the globe. Delta also tweeted:

United Airlines showed its support Friday morning in a press release, calling the ruling a “long-awaited victory” the company is proud to applaud. The airline changed its cover image on Twitter to a plane beneath a rainbow next to the words “pride friendly” and tweeted:

Twitter -> irrelevant Airline -> cheap The combination of the two: any publicity stunt which costs nothing. Sure they could offer edible food but that would involve effort and coordination. Not hating on starving kids, gays, and Canadians is soooo much easier.
