Two Men Arrested After Heroin Found in Dog Carrier at JFK

Two men were arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) after heroin was discovered beneath the bottom of a dog crate holding a Labrador that was being shipped via airplane from Puerto Rico to New York City. Carlos Betancourt-Morales, 27, and Samuel Seabrooks, 35, have been charged with drug possession and conspiracy for their role in moving the drugs.

“Statistics show that, unfortunately, heroin has made a comeback in New York City and its surrounding suburbs, with fatal overdoses outpacing homicides,” said Richard Brown, Queens District Attorney.
