Tuesday Is Dinosaur Day at O’Hare

Trix, a 66 million-year-old Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil, will board a KLM flight from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport (ORD) to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport (AMS) on Tuesday, and there will be a party at ORD to celebrate. Starting September 10, Trix is slated to become the first T. Rex skeleton permanently displayed in a museum in mainland Europe. Trix is especially notable because the “quality of this fossil is unmatched by any other large T. rex find,” according to Anne Schulp, the paleontologist who is in charge of T. rex research at Naturalis.
