TSA Reportedly Improving Lines at Major Airports

NEW YORK - OCTOBER 22: Passengers place their belongings in bins before passing through the passenger security checkpoint at John F. Kennedy International Airport's Terminal 8 on October 22, 2010 in the Queens borough of New York City. Earlier today at Terminal 8, the TSA introduced new backscatter X-ray full-body scanners that can see through clothing and will screen passengers for metallic and non-metallic threats including explosives. In a statement to Congress on Tuesday, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said airport lines are getting shorter because it has been focusing on keeping them efficient at seven major airports. Peter V. Neffenger, TSA Administrator, said, “If you can prevent problems from happening there, you don’t have problems that cascade through the system.” According to The Washington Post, the “mega-airports” airports are ones in “Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Newark and New York’s John F. Kennedy.”
