UA Flight Diverts After Onboard Threat

A United Airlines flight from Anchorage to Denver was diverted to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) Friday after the crew reportedly discovered a hostile message onboard. According to United Airlines spokesman Charlie Hobart, “the crew discovered a threatening message from one of the passengers” onboard the Boeing 737 containing 131 passengers.

While no elaboration on the nature of the threat has been released, the office of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, located in Richmond, British Columbia, has confirmed authorities do have a suspect in custody. The flight reached Denver 12 hours later than originally planned and no injuries were reported.
