This Site Finds Travel Destinations for People Based on Their Personality

This new app will provide travelers with a list of suggested travel destinations based on a quiz; the app learns what you like and continues to provide more specialized locations with each use. It was created by two women friends who love to travel together, but they found destinations growing stagnant.

If you’ve ever wanted to try a travel app designed like a dating app, The Spot For Me is something you should try. It was designed by two friends, Carla and Cindy, who love to travel together. Here’s how it works: You download the app (it’s available for both Apple and Android), then take a short quiz about your personality. The app then recommends a place for you to travel based on your responses. As you use the app more and more, it begins to learn your personality and make more tailored suggestions about where you should travel.

According to a release, Carla and Cindy developed it after Cindy and her husband went to a destination wedding and she was underwhelmed by the all-inclusive resort. She felt anxious instead of relaxed. She overheard other travelers talking about coming back to this same resort over and over, and she began to think about how everyone travels differently based on the person they are.

She returned from the trip and called Carla to talk about her experience, and the idea for the app blossomed. Now that the app is launched and available, Carla and Cindy note that it has an important difference from other travel sites and apps: it won’t tell you how to get where you’re going. Rather, it tells you where you need to go to be most comfortable.

"Aren’t most people pretty good at figuring out on their own what type of vacation experience works best for them?" This wouldn't be for FT'ers. This is another example of a nanny-app for those who can no longer think on their own, thanks to technology. For example, navigation apps have killed most people's sense of orientation. This is just the next step.

Good idea; I could see this taking off (and then Google or Facebook buying it and monetizing the hell out of it until it’s unusable).
