This Christmas, Kids Fly Free to See Santa Claus in the North Pole

This Christmas, Kids Fly Free to See Santa Claus in the North Pole

Travel doesn’t get any better than free, and this has nothing to do with credit-card rewards.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is running a great promo for children ages 2 to 11. Adult travelers who buy a flight and add on a kid’s ticket to their reservation will get that ticket for free (with the exception of taxes). Up to eight children per booking can travel for just the cost of taxes, which come to about $70 per passenger.

You must purchase a trip before Sept. 27 and travel Nov. 1 to Dec. 1 or Jan. 8 to March 25. Promotional fares work for flights in SAS Go Light (basic economy), SAS Go (economy) and SAS Plus (premium economy) classes.

There are no special coupon codes for this deal—fares are calculated once you enter all passengers’ birth dates. If you’re flexible with your travel dates and are looking for the best possible deal, check out the airline’s low-fare calendar. For example, flights from New York City to Oslo, Norway, start at just $510, and tickets to Copenhagen, Denmark, go for $610.

If you think that there’s nothing to do in the winter or early spring in these northern countries, think again. You and your family can go dog sledding, visit the Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, Finland, or spend the long nights hunting the Northern Lights. Who says you must spend Spring Break on a beach?

SAS operates service to Scandinavia from a number of U.S. gateways, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington.
