The Movie Pass of Airlines Goes Bust

WOW Air, the long-troubled Icelandic low-cost carrier, announced on Thursday that it is now no longer in operation. The collapse of the airline is said to have stranded between 2,700 and 4,000 passengers, with Icelandair offering its help in relocating those affected by this cessation of operations.

Long-troubled low-cost carrier WOW Air has collapsed, leaving behind thousands of stranded passengers, reports The Verge. The airline posted a brief statement on its website on Thursday, advising passengers that it had ceased operations and that all of its flights have now been canceled.

“Passengers are advised to check available flights with other airlines. Some airlines may offer flights at a reduced rate, so-called rescue fares, in light of the circumstances. Information on those airlines will be published, when it becomes available,” WOW stated.

According to Iceland Review, “Icelandair is now working on a plan to assist WOW Air passengers to return to their homes. The work is expected to be completed in the next couple of hours.” The outlet also states that the number of passengers stranded by the collapse of the budget carrier could number between 2,700 and 4,000.

Speaking of his experience, Bjorn Kjartansson, who is stranded at Boston’s airport, told CBS Boston, “We’re just kind of like cockroaches or garbage in their eyes.”

The Verge also reports that many passengers have indicated that their Wow flights were delayed multiple times before being canceled.

Hmmm.... another “low-cost” carrier bankrupt. And people who once bragged how cheap it was to fly are not crying about how much they have to pay. You’ll never learn. Never learn. Never, ever. Get rid of these junk airlines.
