The 5 Worst Celebrity Hotel Guests

When celebrities stay at a hotel, the venue often appreciates the publicity such big names bring… unless those big names decide to bring big trouble with them. Based on their alleged antics within recent years, here is a list of the five worst celebrity guests.

Lindsay Lohan

Kicking off the list is the Mean Girl herself, who apparently had quite the time defacing her room at the W Hotel in Union Square in 2012. Allegedly, the property spent months working to repair $50,000 in damages. Supposedly, the hotel had to replace all of the carpet in Lohan’s room, which was littered with burn holes from cigarettes. The W joins a long list of hotels that have been burned by Lohan — from New York’s Soho Grand, where she allegedly ran through the halls in her underwear, to Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont, where she supposedly has yet to pay her $43,350.04 bill.

Amanda Bynes

Another starlet, another hotel and another wrecking spree. Last year, Bynes supposedly left behind tons of garbage, ashes and all sorts of filth after checking out of the Ritz Carlton in New York. Allegedly, she also smoked pot in the room and disabled the smoke detector. It remains unclear whether she ended up paying the $9,000 bill she racked up during her 9-day stay.

Florence Welch

The Florence and the Machine frontwoman admitted that her behavior at New York’s Bowery Hotel in 2012 got a bit out of hand, according to the Toronto Sun. After a night of boozing with Kanye West and Swedish singer Lykke Li, the British singer ripped her dress, chipped her tooth, lit a candle in her room and fell asleep. Unfortunately, the candle set the room ablaze. Welch confessed to Q Magazine that she woke up to “black stuff all over the wall” and that “half the room was singed.” The bill supposedly came to thousands of dollars, several hundred of which went toward repairing the room while the rest covered drinks.

Miley Cyrus

The singer came into the Greenwich Hotel like a wrecking ball during the New York leg of her Bangerz Tour earlier this month. After returning to the hotel late in the evening, she and her posse were purportedly jumping all over the lobby’s furniture, smoking pot and shouting obscenities. “It was like a tornado hit the lobby,” a source told Life & Style. After numerous guests complained, the hotel’s management supposedly asked her to tone things down. Cyrus allegedly yelled back that she spent enough money at the venue to do as she pleased.

Charlie Sheen

This list would not be complete without mentioning this actor’s crazy shenanigans at The Plaza Hotel in New York. In 2010, after allegedly having a bad reaction to medication, Sheen supposedly stripped to his skivvies and trashed his luxury suite while his girlfriend cowered in the bathroom. After Sheen caused an estimated $7,000 in damages, the hotel reportedly banned him for life.
