Teen Arrested for Australian Airport Hoax

Paul Sant, a 19-year-old man from Melbourne, will spend one week in custody after being charged for making hoax radio calls to Melbourne Airport (MEL) and Avalon Airport (AVV). Sant was arrested Monday and charged with “four counts of endangering the safety of aircraft and one count of interference likely to endanger safety” on Tuesday, according to reports.

Sant, who has been diagnosed with autism and depression, reportedly made a total of 16 transmissions to planes and air traffic control between the two airports from September 5 to November 3.
