Sydney Airport Concerned About New High-Rises
Sydney Airport (SYD) has warned that high-rise towers being built near new train stations in the city’s suburbs could be a risk to planes flying low overhead. “If the buildings constructed as part of the urban redevelopment of this area [at Waterloo] are built to the maximum height, they may penetrate the [designated area around the airport that must be protected from obstacles so planes can fly safely],” SYD said. The airport is also concerned about cranes being used during construction.
