Star Alliance and Skyscanner Are Delivering Multi-Carrier Itineraries

Star Alliance and Skyscanner Are Delivering Multi-Carrier Itineraries
Scott Dylan

Star Alliance is bringing multi-carrier itineraries to screens around the world. It is partnering with Skyscanner to make it happen. You’re probably already familiar with Skyscanner if you fly frequently. Skyscanner is a go-to spot for locating lounges, checking flight statuses and searching for fares. However, new features are now available for travelers who book flights with Star Alliance airlines. The travel search engine gives travelers the ability to look for flights, view fares and book directly with all Star Alliance member airlines using a single portal. Of course, airlines love this because it pushes you to book your flight in a controlled setting instead of looking for deals using third-party booking websites.

The Skyscanner website recently received a makeover. The website is currently available in nine languages. Its new look involves new user-friendly touches and shorter paths leading to popular features. The makeover can be seen in both the desktop version and the mobile version. Star Alliance and Skyscanner have worked diligently to create an integrated experience for customers. Anything that is bookable via a member airline’s website can now be accessed via the updated Skyscanner website. Proprietary technology and cutting-edge features have been used to make this possible. Travelers will now be able to use a single platform to book multi-itinerary trips and enjoy multi-itinerary benefits.

Star Alliance is on a mission to make it easier for travelers flying with member airlines to do more online. It is in the process of developing and introducing services like baggage tracking, seat assignments and more. Which airlines are participating? Here’s a list of all of Star Alliance’s members:

For me the worst seats when trying to sleep on a transcontinental flight are: (1) aisle seats (because the two people window-ward of you will not care that you’re sleeping and wake you up to get to the bathrooms and (2) seats within hearing distance of the bathrooms. Once you hear that flushing sound, you’re hearing it over and over and will never be able to sleep!
