Spirit Airlines Is Launching A New South American Route
Scott Dylan

Spirit Airlines is going deeper into Colombia with the launch of a new route departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Travelers can now head from sunny Florida to a popular Colombian city called Cali. Spirit has been successfully serving Colombia for 10 years and the addition of Cali to its roster means that travelers can now choose from five separate destinations when flying to Colombia with Spirit.

Service between Fort Lauderdale and Cali will begin for Spirit customers on Dec. 20 of this year. The route will connect Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO) daily. The most exciting piece of news to be revealed is that the route will be direct.

A Little About Cali

The new route from Spirit is sure to provide a boost to the tourism industry in Cali and surrounding towns and villages. What is waiting for travelers who choose to head to Cali via Spirit Airlines? The city’s region is home to more than 3 million people. It is viewed as a vibrant, welcoming community that offers the best that can be found in Colombia.

Is Spirit Getting Better?

Spirit Airlines currently connects travelers with 28 destinations outside of the United States. A total of 17 of those destinations are located in Latin America. Spirit says that it’s been working hard recently to expand its network and become a top contender for both domestic and international travel from hubs in the United States.

The airline has invested heavily in recent months in improving its on-time performance levels. This move could prove to be the key to enticing more legacy lovers to switch to a budget airline for the first time. In fact, Spirit was recently ranked among the top carriers when it comes to both on-time performance and baggage handling. S

pirit is also making some exciting upgrades to the user experience for its customers. All of the planes in the airline’s fleet will soon be equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. This detail could help to boost the number of business travelers in some regions who are willing to try out a budget airline.
