Who’s next? Southwest Airlines is looking for social media influencers with an itch to travel and a flair for excellent storytelling. The carrier is running its Storyteller contest, a competition that will see lucky winners receive 24 one-way e-passes valid for flights to any of its 99 destinations.

Southwest Airlines is on the lookout for social media influencers with an itch to travel and a knack for great storytelling. The carrier is running its Storyteller contest, a competition that will see ten lucky winners explore its range of destinations while creating compelling travel content.

Southwest explained the competition in a statement, saying, “Have you been to the mountains in Colorado, stepped in the sand of the San Diego beaches, danced to the music in Nashville, or heard the bustling streets in New York City? Now you can cross these trips and more off your travel bucket list if you are a Southwest Airlines Storyteller and Influencer!”.

Qualified entrants must be at least 21 years of age and have, at the very least, 2,500 followers on Instagram.

To be considered, entrants should submit their best travel photos to the carrier via social media.

The airline explains that, “First, contestants should be sure to follow @southwestair on Instagram, and then post a photo and caption that includes @southwestair, the hashtags #SouthwestStorytellers and #Contest, and tells a compelling travel story. Contestants may enter the contest today through Monday, February 24, 2019.”

The carrier will then choose 100 photos, with the selected contestants invited to complete a survey detailing both their social media influence as well as their “Southwest affinity.” Next, a final ten applicants will be asked to submit a portfolio.

This portfolio will be reviewed by judges who will select the winning applicants, whose names will be revealed on April 15th.

Outlining what’s at stake, USA Today reports that, “The finalists will receive prizes including Southwest e-passes valid for one-way travel, Southwest gift cards worth $500, and 10,000 Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards points.”

“The grand prizewinner will receive 24 Southwest e-passes, worth approximately $4,800,” it adds.

More information on the contest is available here.
