South African Airways Struggles to Repay Debt

State-backed carrier South African Airways’ financial woes have been a matter of public record, but the embattled airline is faced with a new problem: The South African government is having difficulty repaying the money it borrowed from sources such as Citibank in order to fund South African Airways, and South African Treasury Director General Dondo Mogajane has claimed that he is “in talks with Citibank” on methods for settling its debt.
