Singer Says SAS Flight Attendant Hit & Racially Profiled Her

Oh boy. This one is a doozy. Singer Azaelia Banks, who you might know from the hit single 212 or from her strange, brief threeway, hostage situation type-thing with Elon Musk and Grimes, has had an eventful flight on SAS.

While traveling from Sweden to Los Angeles, Banks got into an altercation with the woman sitting next to her and the flight attendant. According to Banks, the woman next to her accused her and her boyfriend of joining the mile high club. It’s unclear what happened, exactly, because Banks only started recording after the alleged accusation.

“I’m on the SAS [Scandinavian Airlines] flight and this one lady right here thinks that — she thinks that me and my boyfriend were having sex on the plane,” Azealia says in the clip while the passenger in question tries to cover her face.

Then, we see an SAS crew member approach Banks’ seat. Then, the camera suddenly begins shaking and Azealia Banks yells, “You just hit me! This lady just hit me on the f—— flight.” It could have been the flight attendant, but it’s impossible to tell in the video. But, the caption of her Instagram post says “Hi SAS, I was just racially profiled and assaulted by your staff on a flight back to LA from Stockholm. Please contact me or my team immediately.”

Scandinavian Airlines has confirmed that “an incident on the flight to Los Angeles from Arlanda,” but they seem to point the finger at Azealia Banks with their official statement: “A passenger’s behavior toward other passengers and flight staff caused the legal authorities to be contacted, and they were present when the aircraft landed in Los Angeles. We cannot provide any further information surrounding our passengers onboard.”

Maybe Azealia should make like Greta Thunberg and try zero-carbon cruises as an alternative, calmer mode of transportation.
