Senate Approved Elaine Chao for DOT

On Tuesday, the majority of the Senate voted to confirm Elaine Chao as head of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), a department that includes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Chao is expected to be an important factor in the current administration’s plans to secure approval for a $1 trillion infrastructure plan that, if implemented, would take 10 years to implement fully.
