Ryanair Releases App For Customer Venting

Ryanair Holdings Plc, a low-cost European carrier notorious for cut-rate customer service, has announced plans to give passengers a mobile outlet to vent their frustrations. The “Rate My Flight” mobile application is a key feature of the third phase of Ryanair’s Always Getting Better program according to Michael O’Leary, the CEO who once called passengers “stupid” for being fined for failing to print boarding passes. The application will allow passengers to review their flight upon landing – everything from the boarding process to in-flight meals, flight staff helpfulness and overall service standards. According to O’Leary, Ryanair served over 100 million travelers in 2015, with a total of 41 million passengers projected for 2016.

Indeed - that's what the source article says, but that's not what the article here says. Instead, in a single breath, the article here compares last year's total passenger number across the 31 markets that Ryanair operates in (106 million) with a projected forecast for just one country (the UK, 41 million). Mo'L has been excited at grabbing the number 1 market position in the UK from easyjet, which they are expected to do this year (though the figure looks on the high side to me). They already are number 2, just behind easyjet, in the UK market with a 17% market share. http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/columns/fat-prophets/23623/ryanair-focuses-on-customer-service-23623.html If you read the final sentence in this article, it instead seems to indicate that Ryanair is looking at a drop in passenger numbers of 60% in the current year.

@irishguy28 Bloomberg source literally says: "Ryanair attracted more than 100 million travelers for the first time in 2015 and is set to overtake EasyJet Plc as the biggest airline operating in the U.K., with a total of 41 million passengers forecast this year, O’Leary said."

So you expect Ryanair to experience a downturn of 59% in passenger numbers for 2016 - from over 100 million to 41 million? That's not what the source article says!
