Richard Branson: ‘I really thought I was going to die’

Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson is recuperating from injuries caused by a serious cycling accident that took place earlier this week on Virgin Gorda, an island in the Caribbean. Branson described the accident in a blog post posted to Virgin Group’s website titled “My life flashed before my eyes,” recounting how his bicycle hit a speed bump and sent him flying face-first onto the concrete as his bicycle flew over a cliff.

Branson reportedly shouted “I’m alive! At least you’ve still got a job!” to his assistant, who was the first person to discover him at the scene of the accident.
