Redeem Fewer Miles to Book Your Favorite Destinations with Alaska’s Award Sale

Alaska Airlines is running a limited-time award sale with one-way flights starting at 5,000 Mileage Plan miles.

For the low redemption rates to apply, you must purchase your flights by Feb. 19 and travel between March 6 and May 16. Dozens of departure cities qualify for the promo, and many feature multiple destinations.

Let’s take a look at a few examples. My home base is Salt Lake City, and I can take advantage of five discounted routings. All the routes require just 5,000 miles each way. Flights between Salt Lake City and Seattle often cost $300 round-trip, and this is a great use of Mileage Plan miles for those who collect them.

Angelenos can take advantage of fantastic pricing to visit the Aloha State. One-way flights from Los Angeles to Honolulu or Maui require just 15,000 miles each way, and the availability is wide open. Award flights between these two regions usually go for 17,500 Alaska miles each way, so again, this is a nice discount on flights to Hawaii, which can save you 5,000 miles per person on each round-trip flight.

Seattle-based travelers can visit Alaska at a bargain. One-way flights to Juneau, Alaska, can be booked for 7,000 Mileage Plan miles, or 14,000 miles for a round-trip. The same round-trip flight will set you back $363 if you were to pay cash.

If you live in a city serviced by Alaska Airlines and have a number of Mileage Plan miles in your account, you can save some cash (and miles) by taking advantage of this limited-time award sale. Take a look at the complete list of destinations and “turn miles into memories.”
