Rare $500 A Bottle Whiskey In First Class
All Nippon Airways, already known for nonpareil meal and beverage service, is serving a rare, 21-year-old whiskey in first class: Hibiki Suntory 21 Year Old.
The whiskey, recently spotted on ANA’s menu by God Save the Points, regularly sells for $500 per bottle — if you can find it.
The bottle has won the International Spirits Competition for the last four years in a row, making it hard to get a hold of, driving the price up to $750 from certain sellers.

JL serves the Hibiki 17 on board in F; I'd be surprised if they have the 21 in the lounge. (We flew to NRT so didn't get to use a JL F lounge.)
Hibiki 21 is on offer at the JAL F lounge in NRT, open to all One World Emeralds. It's a great offering, but not exceptional that ANA would have it on the menu. The $500 price tag is for a commemorative bottle at duty free. Until a few years ago the standard Hibiki 21 was sold for $150 at NRT.
Kind of surprised that this is getting as much buzz as it is. Just a couple years ago, before the Japanese whisky craze blew up, JAL used to have Hibiki 21 on self-pour in their F lounge. I'd imagine ANA has some pretty big volume contracts and probably isn't paying $500 or 50k Yen for this. And at the end of the day, this is international long-haul F, after all - a lot of which I'd imagine on ANA to be paid tickets.
So rare that the article is using a picture of Hibiki Japanese Harmony, more modestly priced around $60...
