Qatar Steps Up Its Premium Cabin Dining Game

After a major devaluation to Qatar Airways’ reward program, the carrier is hopeful to reattract flyers with their premium cabin food options. The luxury airline will offer new menus in premium cabins on European routes, focusing on regional favorites, afternoon tea and other beverage choices.

Qatar Airways wants premium cabin flyers to enjoy their time in the skies – and are reflecting that dedication with a new menu. The Middle East carrier announced a shift in their dining options, rolling out first on European routes.

The new menus are based on destinations served by the Doha-based airline. First- and business class flyers traveling to Italy can soon expect generous helpings of porcini and truffle risotto, while those flying into the airline’s headquarters will have their options of traditional Arabic foods. Most routes will feature kabsa, biryani and a selection of specially prepared meats.

Options will vary between class cabins as well up front. In first class, an improved caviar service will be paired with Balik-style salmon, all served on a crystal plate. Business class flyers will get afternoon tea on some routes, as well as new warm dessert options.

But not all the experiences will be focused around indulgences. Based on customer demands, the airline will also offer more healthy dining options including salads, breakfast oatmeal with berries and cold pressed juices. The new options can be found on long-haul flights to help flyers rejuvenate.

Premium cabin flyers can pre-select their meal options prior to departure on the Qatar Airways website or mobile app. The airline has not yet announced when they will introduce the new options on other routes.

The announcement comes on the heels of major changes to their loyalty program. In February, the airline changed upgrade options for flyers, followed by adding fees per sector on award flights.

that made my day, hahaha, sorry :-) As I did experience this "upgraded premium cabin food already", I can tell you that it is nothing special and absolutley nothing what could mitigate the recent MASSIVE DEVALUATION of miles and worsening of QRPC!
