Qantas Reveals New LAX Hangar

On Friday, Qantas Airways officially unveiled a $30 million hangar with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The hangar, billed by Qantas as the first in North America designed with the large Airbus A380 in mind, has replaced the last Qantas hangar at LAX, which was created in 1958.

“We can have up to four aircraft on the ground at LAX at once and some are here for around 14 hours,” said Alan Joyce, Qantas Group CEO.

“So it makes sense to have a facility where we can make good use of that time by doing scheduled maintenance.”
