A reported 15 people were arrested at Heathrow Airport (LHR) this weekend after staging a “die-in” protest in response to news that the government would be supporting a plan to expand LHR with a third runway.

“This expansion is being driven by the very rich at the expense of some of the poorest people in the world,” said RisingUp!, the grassroots organization responsible for the protest.

The campaigners also held up signs that read “protect the planet, no more runways” and could be heard chanting.
