Primera Air to Launch Direct Service to Brussels from U.S. Cities

Low-cost Nordic airline Primera Air will be launching direct service to Brussels from three U.S. cities starting next year, and flights go on sale today.

Those who live in or near Boston, Washington and New York City will be able to fly directly to Belgium’s capital as early as next spring. Service from Newark Liberty International Airport will begin May 9. Passengers from Washington and Boston will be able to fly nonstop to Brussels starting June 2.

Additionally, a new flight from Washington to London Stansted Airport is beginning service Aug. 23—in two days.

Primera Air already flies from New York City and Boston to London Stanstead and Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.

“With the right equipment and our product, we can offer the lowest fares available in the market for both Economy and full-service Premium,” Primera Air’s Chief Commercial Officer Anastasija Visnakova said in a press release.

Those looking to cross the pond without spending a fortune can do so by paying $149 to $199 for a one-way flight to one of the aforementioned European cities. However, keep in mind that you will be charged separately for a checked bag, in-flight meals and extra legroom. Using a credit card for booking your ticket will incur a fee as well.

Although small with just 18 aircraft in its fleet, Primera Air serves more than a million passengers every year. The carrier operates flights from its European base cities to more than 70 destinations across the world.
