Prague Hangar Fire Damages Boeing 737
The airport operator at Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) has confirmed that a fire in hangar F damaged a Boeing 737 on June 9 before the blaze was extinguished by the airport’s fire brigade. An electronic fire alarm was trigged at 5:27 p.m., and the fire was allegedly completely extinguished by 7:38 p.m. The operator said “The extent of the fire was not large. The integrated rescue system was not even activated,” adding that “it is currently too soon to reach any conclusions.”
There were no serious injuries to personnel reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
