Pot Disposal Boxes Popped Up at Las Vegas Airport

In answer to the question “what if I accidentally took my recreational marijuana with me to the airport?” McCarran International Airport has installed 12 marijuana amnesty drop boxes for worry-free disposal.

The boxes are also in response to a new ordinance from Clark County Nevada disallowing marijuana in any airport, including McCarran, slated to go into effect in October.

But who will collect all of the marijuana in the drop boxes?

“The drawer pulls out; you drop your stuff in and you close it. You can’t really get your hand in there,” said Christine Crews, McCarran spokesperson said. “If you start tampering with them, you’d be detected pretty quickly.”
