Police Remove “Terrifying” Stowaway From Gatwick-Bound Flight

Authorities were called in to remove a woman who slipped past security at Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) and onto a Norwegian Airlines flight Saturday after her erratic behavior alarmed passengers.

“It was terrifying,” said Julia Hilton, one of the 177 passengers aboard DY5164. “We didn’t know if she was a terrorist.”

The stowaway, thought to be in her 40s and of Eastern European descent, was reportedly flagged as unwelcome when she began flaunting multiple passports. A Norwegian Airlines representative confirmed that the woman was removed from the aircraft by police and the flight arrived at Gatwick Airport (LGW) two hours behind schedule.
