In what is absolutely an inciting incident in somebody’s villainous backstory, containers filled with plutonium that were stolen from a car in a Marriott parking lot on March 21 of 2017 have still not been recovered or accounted for.

According to some, this incident is part of a wider trend in recent years of disappearing nuclear materials and a lack of governmental accountability.
