Ryanair pilot takes to social media to vent about passengers and other aviation reports.
One Ryanair pilot is receiving “dislikes” for his attitude after posts made to his social media accounts about passengers were made public. Britain’s Mirror reports 31-year-old Iain Inglis made a number of comments on his personal Facebook page including one in which he describes running from a bearded man who was “praying quietly to Mecca and kissing the floor at [London Stansted Airport (STN)].” In another post, the pilot supposedly criticized passengers waiting in line to board a flight.
“To all Ryanair passengers. You now have a seat assignment,” Inglis allegedly posted on Facebook, according to The Telegraph. “So why of why (sic) are you still queuing up like morons!!?? Please locate your brains.”
In yet another post, Inglis posted a photo of himself in the cockpit wearing a hat made of tin foil. Inglis did not specify if he was aboard a Ryanair aircraft. However, according to the Mirror, the pilot was responding to a report that approximately one hour of sun exposure at 30,000 feet is equivalent to 20 minutes on a tanning bed.
The airline, which is no stranger to controversy, addressed the situation in Ryanair fashion. “We don’t comment on social media nonsense,” a spokesperson for the airline told The Telegraph. “Nor do we comment on individuals.”
Last year, Ryanair announced a new social media plan, including the hiring of a new chief marketing officer. The airline did not specify if Inglis would face disciplinary actions for his alleged social media activity.
