An American pilot in Peru is facing charges of drug trafficking, after being caught with nearly 22 pounds of cocaine in his luggage – yet he claims the drugs are not his. Yahoo! Travel reports pilot Kenneth Parrock was arrested at Lima’s Jorge Chavez International Airport (LIM) after being accused of having the drugs in his possession.

Parrock was flying from LIM to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he was planning to connect to another flight to Asia. While in the airport, police approached Parrock and allegedly discovered multiple parcels of cocaine in the flyer’s possession. Myanmar International TV reports the drugs were packaged in aluminum bags, hidden in sheets in the Parrock’s suitcase.

However, the flyer claims that the drugs are not his. According to the reports, Parrock admitted that the two suitcases belonged to him and were in his possession, but claims he did not know the drugs were in his luggage. In all, the six bags yielded nearly 22 pounds of cocaine. Peruvian officials are investigating Parrock to see if he is connected to Asian distribution cartels.

At least three other flyers have been implicated in cocaine trafficking throughout 2015. In November, Delta Air Lines confirmed one of their employees was arrested when caught with cocaine after a flight departing from LIM. In October, a flyer who bit another passenger and later died was discovered to be carrying over $60,000 worth of cocaine in his stomach. In April, a flyer was accused of transporting cocaine in a suitcase that did not actually belong to him.
