Piece of Wing Nearly Detaches Mid-Flight

Passengers onboard a Monarch Airlines flight found themselves unsettled Sunday after their Airbus A321 was forced to divert when a piece of the wing was seen hanging off. The flight – ZB654 to Malaga – made an emergency return to Manchester, and the flyers were appropriately accommodated.

If you notice the holes along the perimeter of the panel it is clear that this is a removable part. Not suggesting that it not being in place is ok but likely not structural to the integrity of the airplane.
