Pets No Longer Allowed as Checked Baggage With Delta

This week, Delta Air Lines announced it will no longer be accepting pets as checked luggage beginning March 1, 2016. Pets – larger ones, specifically – will be required to be shipped via Delta Cargo, where they will be monitored closely in temperature-controlled areas.

The airline is making two exceptions to the rule though that recognizes U.S. military pets and their dependents, and emotional support animals. Otherwise, smaller furry friends that meet the weight/kennel qualifications will still be permitted to travel in the cabin.

Great. We can now assume there will be a substantial increase in "Emotional Support Animals." :-(

"Emotional support animal" and "uncomfortable with a fellow passenger" are the funniest world-wide jokes on US flyers. A third point would be "TSA", but this one is not funny ; it is irritating.
