PAX Slams BA for Charging $6 for Tea

A British Airways passenger left his recent UK to Oslo flight fuming when he was charged $6 for a “strong” tea.

“We were told we had to pay double as they sold it by the tea bag. Was I right to be shocked?” asked the 60-year-old from Lancaster who did not wish to be named.

British Airways defended the charge, arguing that since each tea bag is attached to a disposable cup, they have to charge $3 for each of the two bags he requested for his “strong” tea. They added that hot water is complimentary and that passengers were welcome to bring their own tea bags on board for free.

I often go to lunch with a friend who drinks tea instead of coffee. It always annoys him that that when I ask for a refill of my coffee, I get another cup of coffee. We he asks for a tea refill, he gets more hot water to pour over his used tea bag. DON

Be thankful the OP was not at the Plaza New York, I did the same thing a couple of years ago and asked for a Second Tea Bag and was charged a total including Tax and Tips of around $15
