PAX Restrain Spitting Passenger on Virgin Flight

A recent Virgin Atlantic from Gatwick Airport (LGW) to Saint Lucia was forced to divert after a passenger onboard became aggressive. The man threatened people, spit at crew members and said he was going to open the aircraft’s doors mid-flight. “He was completely out of it,” a fellow passenger said.

“They had to restrain him. A couple of passengers helped with that.” The flight landed at Lajes Field (TER).

The man was reportedly handed over to authorities upon landing.
