Passengers Use Ladder to Deplane

The Nigerian government is investigating an incident at an airport in Bauchi Saturday where an aircraft malfunction led to passengers deplaning via a ladder. A spokesman for Nigeria’s minister of state for aviation said the act was “unsafe and unacceptable,” not to mention out-of-line with the nation’s aviation rules.

Though the government and airline said the flyers used the ladder depart – because the airstairs were out of commission – a video shows them using the ladder to enter a different jet.
