Noise Reduction Plan Moving Forward at ORD

On Monday, Chicago’s Department of Aviation entered a new plan that would ideally reduce noise pollution in neighborhoods surrounding Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to be possibly implemented in July. The Fly Quiet plan intends to spread noise around the North and Northwest sides of the city, shifting noise away from affected western suburbs, and alternate runways assigned for arrivals and departures each week. The plan is the first of its kind in the U.S.
