United CEO Suffers Heart Attack

United Airlines’ recently appointed CEO, Oscar Munoz, 56, is reportedly being treated at a hospital in Chicago after suffering a heart attack Thursday. The severity of Munoz’s condition is currently unknown to the company’s directors, according to an individual close to the situation.

In a statement released Friday morning, United wrote:

We have been informed by Oscar’s family that he was admitted to the hospital on Thursday and we will provide further details as appropriate. In the meantime, we are continuing to operate normally.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and we are respecting their privacy.
