New Points Search Travel App Launches for U.S.-Based Travelers

Flyers hoping to vacation on their points and miles will soon have a new tool available to them when looking for flights. Chatflights is now available in the United States, promising to pair flyers with available award options from all of their loyalty currencies.

Arguably, the most challenging part of booking award travel is determining not only which points and miles to collect, but the most appropriate way to use them. A new startup wants to help you combine all of your points to find the best premium travel options using all of your points balances. Chatflights, an app-based service, is now available to U.S.-based travelers on both the Apple App Store and Google Play store.

Swedish App Chatflights Makes Landfall in U.S. Market Ahead of Travel Season

Founded in 2017 in Sweden, Chatflight sought to help travelers find their best options using all of their favorite loyalty currencies. Instead of just finding flights using frequent flyer miles, Chatflight combines loyalty programs with the three major credit card loyalty programs – American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards and Citi ThankYou Rewards – with all the available transfer partners to find the best premium flight options for flyers.

“Our U.S. launch is an exciting opportunity to help even more people realize that maximizing the value of award travel doesn’t have to be stressful or frustrating,” Malte Barnekow, Chatflights’ president, said in a press release. “Our team outsources the headache by doing it for you, putting in the work to make sure you get the best possible outcome available anywhere and supporting you during the entirety of the booking process and trip. On average, our customers are enjoying 4-8x more raw purchasing power from their rewards programs compared to booking travel themselves.”

The app works by connecting flyers with a human booking agent via chat. After setting up the app and connecting loyalty programs, the flyer can request assistance to find flights at any time. When the booking agent finds a flight that works for your needs, you will get a notification from the app. From there, flyers can approve the flight with one tap, and the agents will book everything using your points. A flat booking fee is only applied to approved flights.

Flyers can download the app now in the Apple App Store or Google Play store. To learn more about Chatflights, visit their website at chatflights.com.

App Comes as Credit Cards Offer New Bonuses for Cardholders

The U.S. Launch of Chatflights comes as more travel-focused credit cards are offering more bonuses for flyers. To open the year, American Express relaunched offerings for travelers across their credit card offerings, while Spirit Airlines launched two credit cards with additional loyalty benefits. Additionally, Southwest Airlines debuted a new promotion giving qualified cardholders access to the Companion Pass benefit.

Hi there, to respond to the high fees comments, the reason our prices are where they are is because they are zero risk. In other words, we do all the work and don't charge a dime until you decide to book, whereas most other services will charge customers upfront, which is awkward because award travel is never a guarantee. We are so confident you'll be impressed with our work that you will find the fee a steal! We also act as your personal concierge during the duration of your trip. Feel free to give it a whirl and I'll be happy to extend a 20% discount on your first trip, simply reference this article. //Malte (co-founder)

On top of spending your points and paying all the airline fee/s/taxes, Chatflight charges: $350 PER PASSENGER for an economy class ticket, $350 PER PASSENGER for a business class ticket, $450 PER PASSENGER for a first class ticket. No bueno.
