Business Seat Allows Smartphone Control
The Waterfront Seat, a ‘next-generation seat’ designed by Panasonic Avionics, B/E Aerospace, Formation Design Group and Teague, has been nominated for a Crystal Cabin Award at the upcoming Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg, Germany. The seat allows business-class passengers to sync their smartphones or tablets to in-flight entertainment systems and stream films or TV programs, as well as adjust the seat’s head-, leg- and back-rests to a desired position anywhere between an upright 90 degrees to a 79-inch flat bed. Presets can be saved so that passengers’ preferences can be accommodated on any flight that supports the system.
