New 737 Max 8 to Take Flight in 2016

Boeing has unveiled the next iteration in its 737 Max series. From Business Insider: “The Boeing 737 Max series will range from the smaller, 149-seat Max 7 to the 220-seat Max 9. The jet that debuted is a 189-seat Max 8.”

Boeing has reportedly already collected 3,000 orders for the plane and expects to make a delivery to Southwest Airlines, its launch partner, in 2017’s third quarter. A maiden flight, however, is set to take place sometime in 2016.
