My Favorite Business Class Products

Although flying can be fun, it’s definitely not the most comfortable activity. Shrinking perks in economy make traveling business class far more appealing. As barely a step below first class, there are definite advantages to opting for a higher ticket price, such as more leg room, seats that turn into beds, and more food options. Some airlines go above and beyond with certain amenities such as on-board cuisine, in-flight entertainment, and extra comfy seats. Here are my favorite airline business class products.

Qatar

The new Qsuite business class seats on Qatar Airways have received a lot of buzz in the last couple of years for beautiful design and exceptional amenities. Currently ranked number one for business class seats, you might end up wishing you could extend your flight instead of shorten it.

Quads of separate seats easily move to form pods, ideal for families or associates traveling together. (You can even combine two seats next to each other to form a double bed). Find the provided noise canceling headphones to help neutralize background noise, and a button controlled sliding door gives you more privacy to sleep or just relax during the flight.

Singapore Airlines

Travelers may joke that the business class meals served on Singapore Airlines are like five star meals, but the airline has allegedly received requests to open a restaurant serving the beautiful meals.

You can expect to see New Zealand lamb, Boston lobster, and panna cotta during dinner on a flight. The individual pods have soft leather seats, and are equipped with plenty of compartment space and large individual entertainment screen.

Consistency and comfort are the key words for Qantas Airways business class amenities. Their gray kangaroo print pajamas are a key aspect of providing comfort, especially on a long haul flight such as going from Sydney to Dallas.

Amenity kits include Kate Spade products for women and Jack Spade toiletries for men, including an eye mask, lotion, hand cream, and lip balm. Quilted mattress covers are handed out on long flights to make the beds extra comfy.

Cathay Pacific

Business class seats on Cathay Pacific flights may not seem the most modern, but are extremely popular among travelers for the amount of space. (Is it even possible to feel like you have too much space on flights?)

Although there isn’t much of a divider in the center console to give you privacy from the guest sitting next to you (in case you are traveling solo), the spacing makes it feel more private than you would anticipate. The food is only decent, but the number of options per meal (and course) is great for those with dietary needs or who just want more options.

Japan Airlines

Business class seats on Japan Airlines have an industry leading entertainment system. Individual touch screens also come with a touch remote in case you are reclining and can’t use the actual screen, and often have more than 100 movies to choose from (including many new releases).

One reviewer does recommend bringing your own headphones, as the provided headsets don’t match the quality of the screens. Note that WiFi is not included, but passes are available if you need to get some work done during the flight. For food, the airline often provides both Asian and Western inspired menus, although you need to choose one menu to order from.

Hainan Airlines

Start with a complimentary limo ride to the airport for your business class seat on Hainan Airlines. You can book your limo up to 30 days before your flight, or at least four hours before your flight time. In addition to the free ride to the airport, the business class amenities are where Hainan Airlines excels in providing comfort amenities.

If you’re flying overnight, you can use the complimentary pajamas, and enjoy Bulgari grooming products in the amenity kits. (Bathrooms are also stocked with extras in case you need to freshen up a little more). Available snacks in the galley go beyond crackers or fruit, with more substantial options such as pastrami sandwiches and wonton noodle soup with shrimp dumplings.

Austrian Airlines

There’s a reason why Austrian Airlines receives high reviews for its business class meals. Each meal consists of several courses, many of which are plated by the seat instead of being portioned individually in advance. You’ll probably need to sleep off the large meal, with appetizer options such as salmon tartare, grilled vegetables, and potatoes with butter and bacon. Entrees usually include a choice of a red meat, fish, and vegetarian option.

The dessert spread is its own smorgasbord with cheese, fruit, traditional sweet dumplings, and pudding. The available wine pairings take the meal to the next level. Since most travelers expect airline food to taste anywhere from terrible to mediocre, it’s a pleasant surprise to experience a culinary delight while on a flight.

AA's 772 seats are now the same as the 77W and they are licensed from Cathay Pacific. I've flown them both a number of times. CX recently upgraded their catering so it's now pretty good... not Qatar good, but better than before.

hi FlyerCo, I think they are the actual same seat. When the Zodiac mess happened, AA had to move fast and picked the same seat that Cathay was using. It is only on AA's 777-300ER, and they be getting retrofitted. I found this mention of it as well: https://runwaygirlnetwork.com/2016/10/10/american-opens-up-with-story-of-cancelled-zodiac-concept-d-seat/ Now, to be fair, all the other AA J seats: meh. big fat meh.

@Xnuiem - they may have the same style and for most part looking seat. However they are different. Also AA has problems where moving one seat currently causes movement of the connected seat.

I find it amusing that Cathay is on here and just for the seat, but AA is not. AA has the exact same seat on their 773 fleet.

Not sure I agree with all your selections but that's ok, so your leader says "and how to book them" so how do we book?
