More Hotels in North America Prohibit Smoking

As both traditional and e-cigarettes have become a nuisance in the hospitality industry in recent years, more and more hotels across the country are transitioning to 100 percent smoke-free. In 2017, Choice Hotels is implementing the rule in 1,800 of its Comfort Inns and Comfort Suites in the U.S. and Canada.

“Nobody wants a smoking room,” says Steve Joyce, Choice Hotels’ CEO.

Wyndham Hotel Group is also recognizing the regulation, as is Hilton’s Canopy and Tru brands.
