Monkey Named Dawkins Goes on Two-Hour Chase at SAT
Ryan Boyd

On Monday night, a rhesus macaque named Dawkins led authorities a two-hour chase at San Antonio International Airport (SAT) after escaping his cage in transit. After the chase, Dawkins was restrained and tranquilized and safely transported to a wildlife sanctuary in the San Antonio area.

“We are working closely with the San Antonio Aviation Department and officials from the San Antonio Zoo. Officials from the zoo are now onsite to ensure his safety and wellbeing as he continues his journey to his new home at the primate sanctuary,” read a statement from American Airlines, the carrier transporting the macaque.
