Mom-Friendly Amenities Now Available at MIA

In addition to indoor pet-relief areas and a pre-security yoga studio, Miami International Airport (MIA) is opening eight “lactation stations” that will be available to nursing moms starting Thursday. The stand-alone stations – built by Burlington, Vt.-based company Mamava – feature comfortable benches, fold-down tables, privacy doors, and outlets for plugging in breast pumps.

Mamava CEO Sascha Mayer said, “Airports, are noisy hectic places and these units will provide a sanctuary for a mother to sit and nurse a distracted baby – while containing a busy sibling – and a clean, dignified place for moms to use their breast pumps.”
