Marriott Upsets China (Again)

After initially upsetting the Chinese government by issuing a customer satisfaction survey that listed Tibet as a separate and distinct nation alongside Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the Marriott Rewards Twitter account was seen ‘liking’ a tweet from Friends of Tibet.

The Chinese government shut down Marriott’s Chinese website and mobile app in response to the initial incident.

That was actually not the case yesterday when I tried to book a hotel in Taipei off the Marriott website. It showed "Taipei, China" in the search, and when I messaged Marriott about it, it was corrected to Taiwan today.
