Marriott Extends Free Wi-Fi Service to Loyalty Members Worldwide
Marriott Rewards members will soon be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi at more than 3,800 locations worldwide.
Marriott International, Inc., announced on Wednesday that it will provide free Wi-Fi connections to 47 million members of the company’s loyalty award program, Marriott Rewards. The free perk will be available only to those who book a reservation through one of Marriott’s direct portals, including the Marriott website, mobile app, toll-free 1-800-MARRIOTT number and via a Marriott hotel property.
The service will be available starting January 15, 2015, at more than 3,800 company properties around the world.
“Marriott Rewards members asked for free Wi-Fi, and we answered,” Stephanie Linnartz, Marriott International’s executive vice president and chief marketing and commercial officer, was quoted as saying in the press release. “Free Wi-Fi is a meaningful way to reward our most loyal customers and continue to attract next-gen travelers.”
The new benefit will be available at Marriott Hotels, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Gaylord Hotels, Autograph Collection, AC Hotels by Marriott, Marriott Executive Apartments and The Ritz-Carlton.
These properties will join EDITION, Moxy, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn & Suites, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites and Marriott Vacation Club, which all currently provide guests with free Wi-Fi.
Platinum and Gold Elite members in the Marriott Rewards program will continue to enjoy enhanced Wi-Fi, where available, free of charge. The exclusive high-speed service lets elite status holders download large files quickly and utilize streaming services.
